Athyrium Niponicum Var. Pictum ‘Burgundy Lace’

The feathery fronds of this elegant fern emerge a rich burgundy colour in spring. Each frond delicately unfurls to create a lovely arching shape. As the foliage matures, it transforms to shimmering silver-green, but retains the dramatic purple midrib. Athyrium niponicum var. pictum ‘Burgundy Lace’ is a choice selection of Painted Lady Fern, which will form a lacy mound in damp, shaded locations. Perfect for edging woodland pathways, or dotting through the front of borders. Once established, this well behaved, deciduous fern will need virtually no maintenance. Height and spread: 45cm (18″).
