The jazzy patterns of Ctenanthe oppenheimiana instantly draw attention. In common with other ‘Prayer Plants’, Ctenanthe boasts beautifully coloured and patterned leaves that inject energy into houseplant displays, but they are a little easier to look after than the closely related Calathea. Elliptical leaves with maroon undersides are adorned with a bold fish-scale pattern in deep green against a silvery background. Intriguingly, the leaves fold up at night like hands in prayer before opening again in the morning. RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height: 1m (39in). Spread: 60cm (24in).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
