Sarracenia Leucophylla

A well-known carnivorous plant which makes a fascinating houseplant. Commonly known as the Pitcher Plant, Sarracenia leucophylla is an extremely attractive species with beautiful white-topped pitchers that are heavily veined with crimson red. Despite their beauty, these colourful vases are lethal to unsuspecting insects who are drawn to the promise of nectar. Once trapped within the vase, they are slowly digested by the plant. These intriguing plants do require specific care to thrive, but the effort is well worth it, and they make an absorbing conversation piece. Height and spread: 60cm (24″).
